QUESTIONS, THOUGHTFULLY ANSWERED
A little clarity.
A more confident next step.
Is Smart Care for disabled people too?
Yes. We explore controls and practical changes around what you want to do, whether your needs relate to mobility, sight, hearing, dexterity or everyday routines. You do not need to want monitoring. Specialist requirements may need an occupational therapist or assistive technology professional.
What is Smart Care?
Smart Care is our approach to technology-enabled independent living: helpful sensors, simpler controls and considered adaptations, planned around the person at home. It supports everyday reassurance; it does not replace personal care or professional medical advice.
Does Smart Care mean cameras in my home?
No. We start with less intrusive options such as movement, door and temperature sensors. Cameras are not the default. Any recommendation should have a clear purpose and be discussed with the person living in the home.
Who decides what information the family can see?
The resident’s wishes come first. The assessment explores what information is useful, who should have access and how that access can change. If decision-making capacity is a concern, appropriate professional guidance is needed before proceeding.
What happens if the internet or power goes down?
Some connected features and alerts can stop working. The design should explain these dependencies, any available backup options and the practical response plan. No connected system can guarantee that every incident will be detected.
How much does an assessment or installation cost?
Your first 15-minute discovery call is free, with no purchase obligation. Assessments and installations are not currently open for booking. Any future paid service will need a separately agreed scope and price, including equipment, subscriptions and support costs.
Can you work with equipment we already own?
That is the starting point wherever practical. Compatibility, security updates and reliability need to be checked before existing equipment can be included.
Do you provide care or monitor emergencies?
No personal care or clinical service is offered here, and this is not a monitored emergency response service. Families need an agreed plan for responding to alerts. For an immediate emergency, call 999.
Which areas do you cover?
We are based in Birmingham and welcome discovery-call enquiries from across the UK. Calls are by appointment. Installation coverage has not been launched; a discovery call does not book a home visit.
Do you offer estate agency or property management?
Smart Property is a future part of the brand. Buying, selling, letting, rent collection and tenancy management are not currently offered through this website. Smart Landlord focuses on improvements and technology.
